Sometimes, entrepreneurs build their market not with advertising, but with education. For people with disabilities, changing the mindset about their potential was the first step in building multiple businesses, including a talent agency, a financing company, and a production studio.

When the company first started placing people with disabilities, the talent had the added burden of educating the studio or production company on accessibility, language, and stereotypes."We found that non-disabled people are so scared to say the wrong thing that they end up not saying anything at all," said Cat-Wells."They internalize everything and find a reason why not to hire us or fund us.

The social model of disability, used primarily in the United Kingdom, is rooted in the belief that people are disabled by barriers in society, not by their impairment or difference. Even with the Americans with Disabilities Act , people with disabilities still face many barriers. So Cat-Wells is building Zetta Studio, a space that goes beyond compliance and is made with people with disabilities in mind.
