JOHOR BARU: The inaugural Kuala Lumpur International Logistics and Transport (KiLAT) Excellence Awards has been launched to recognise companies that have played a part in growing the industry.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said 43 award recipients were selected for the awards based on their outstanding achievements and contribution to the industry out of a total of more than 130 global nominations.

“The nominations were from categories namely transport , logistics and warehousing, aviation, maritime, and women in the transport and logistics industry. “With these awards, we hope to give some recognition to companies that have played a part in growing the transport and logistics industry as a mainstay of the economy,” he said after launching the awards in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday .They also launched the new and improved Transport Ministry directory as well as witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding exchange ceremony between YTL, Universiti Malaya and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd under the Railway Enhancement Programme.

This programme would be facilitated by the National Rail Centre of Excellence under his ministry, said Dr Wee. “The KiLAT Excellence Awards was scheduled to be held concurrently with the KiLAT exhibition which had to be postponed due to the pandemic.Article type: free
