One of the region’s favorites, the Grand Prairie Farmers Market, will open for the season Saturday.
Farmers and artisans will sell locally grown fruits and vegetables, plants, tamales, bread and baked goods, salsas, dips, relishes, eggs, honey, soaps, lotions, candles and more.in 2020 in the annual American Farmland Trust contest, but fell to fourth place in 2021. To kick off the return, Batman, Spiderman and Wonder Woman will be on hand at 8 a.m. for photo opportunities with kids. At 9 a.m., Mayor Ron Jensen will lead a 3.2-mile community walk as part of theParticipants can get free T-shirts and Kona Ice, while supplies last. Face painting, crafts and snacks will be available after the walk.
Grand Prairie’s market, located at 120 W. Main St., will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through December.
