Ukraine's state nuclear company shut down the last of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant's six reactors in September
Ukrainian state nuclear company Energoatom shut down the last of the plant's six reactors on September 11 because Russian military activity had cut reliable external power supplies for cooling and other safety systems, threatening a potentially catastrophic meltdown. In an interview with The Associated Press, Energoatom President Petro Kotin said the company could restart two of the reactors in a matter of days to protect safety installations as winter approaches and temperatures drop.
"You have residual heat and you should constantly provide the coolant for these fuel assemblies. If you stop cooling, then you will have meltdown. And that is how it works," he said. At the time of the forced shutdown, Ukrainian officials warned it was only a stopgap measure and, as such, unreliable. "Those heaters run on electricity, which need not come from the reactors, if the plant has a grid connection or backup generators in lieu of off-site power supplies," Mr Arndt said.
Russia wants Zaporhizia for power and they need water for Crimea
Yeah good luck with that
How they plan to restart reactors if the plant is in Russian hands !?
What could possibly go wrong? Everything
Can't Australia send them some solar panels? We have to get serious here...
ABC/Lefties who say no to coal/gas or nuclear are like the drunk drive who the cops pull over & insist they aren't DWI & speed off, go through red-lights then crash & kill themselves, rather than having to admit they're drunk.
. . This is Hollywood level PROPAGANDA. You'd have to be fully indoctrinated to believe this bushite. You are allowed to call out fake news & propaganda - it doesn't mean you're on the other side. In fact, you're on the side of evil if you don't call it out. 2+2=4 . . .
Good.
