Ireland's joint bid with British football associations was bolstered last week after rival bidder Turkey merged with Italy in a bid to host the 2032 tournament

The government has been called on to invest revenue from a successful Euro 2028 bid back into grassroots football in Ireland.While Turkey has not formally withdrawn its bid for the 2028 tournament, it would mean Ireland and the UK would be unopposed if it does.
