26 years after an accident that resulted in a spinal injury, severe nerve pain, and a 5 year life expectancy, Richard Hanbury is pain free, and trying to bring his opioid alternative solution to the masses.

, Sana is developing neuromodulation devices that have the potential to reduce or completely eliminate pain, as well as over-reliance on opioids to treat it.Wearable migraine management device Cefaly is placed on the forehead, calming the trigeminal nerve with a sedative effect.

Bioness CEO Todd Cushman said the company recently had a study published by the University of California, San Diego, with 39 patients. The treatment targeted 11 different nerves. Regulators and health-care providers also want to understand how effective technological approaches are compared to pharmaceutical treatments over the long term."The thing that's going to be really interesting is the longevity of a lot of these devices," Viskontas said."You know, whether the pain relief is going to last or if it is just going to be taken over by the next thing, when the person realizes that their pain hasn't gone away.

Neuromodulation devices and other technology can potentially offer other advantages over pills, she said.

Only when I'm driving.

Yea I would, if it helps with migraines.

If someone will take suppositories for pain, then these glasses wouldn't be much more of a pain in the ass.

With so many new Migraine treatments recently approved, with demonstrated improvement in migraine relief, I would suggest dropping your support of Cefaly’s ineffective headgear - I’ve yet to meet a patient that wasn’t disappointed with its lack of effect.

I'm 55 have been on some sort of pain med. for over 30yrs. I have spinal and cervical stenosis, spinal degeneration, nerve damage, pinched nerves ect.. Also have migraines and fibromiology! Any way to get off all my meds. and be pain free or even reduced would be heaven for me!

I love the thought of not having to take opiods. I hate that it's not for someone who is disabled, on Social Security. 1 it's not covered and 2 it's financially beyond the means of most! The people that need it the most can't afford it.

It is so good.

SuelouiseS we need to share this info with a friend. What's your take on this technology?

Sure, I’ll try anything once

No. It would give me a migraine

That has been tried in some form or other for those who suffer from migraines with little or no success. Is this one of those new miracle pain relief products that promises everything, but delivers hardly anything?

I will try anything to take the edge off

banning opioid s was not good i worked for hospice we have to have them.

What does it do for migraneurs triggered by flashing lights and loud or intrusive noises?

Analysis | The Technology 202: Europe is leading the crackdown on tech companies and competitionAnalysis: Europe is leading the crackdown on tech companies and competition Slowly but surely we have been abdicating, abandoning, ignoring our leadership in the world, or just ignoring facts thus leading to mistrust and hence loss of said leadership. Welcome to Trump’s legacy! This is good. Monopolies are bullies. I also hate to see startup creativity sold out to Google through acquisitions. Of all the industries to be most monopolized, it's our information highway. I'm looking at you too, Comcast.

Why liberals and big tech companies broke upThe attacks and skepticism that prominent Democrats are directing to Silicon Valley represent a major cultural change in the party. This is not a move against technology.... it is a move against MONOPOLIES. The real answer to big tech is FOSS software, like the Ubuntu Linux I am running now, or some other distro. Some version or fork of Mastodon will could be replacing these social media companies. She could hurry it along by moving the government to their own Linux distro. LOL nice try POLITICO but the truth is Democrats/leftists/progressives and their mainstream fake news media sycophants are securely in the back pocket of the technology industry.
