ASC aims to focus on security industry

ASC President Teboho Motloung says the party will focus on improving the lives of among others security guards. say it is the only party that can represent them. More than 800 supporters gathered in Thokoza, east of Johannesburg, for the launch of the party’s 2019 election manifesto.

They are mostly security guards and cleaners who feel marginalised. A supporter highlights the difficulties of working in the industry. “We support this party because it’s going to bring benefits to us. It’s hard in this industry. We are working, we don’t have benefits, we don’t have car allowances and we don’t have house allowances. You will work for the company maybe for three years after the company is gone and you are left with nothing. You will work for another one again, you are left with nothing. We have nothing as security guards, we don’t have houses. We have nothing.

ASC President Teboho Motloung has promised supporters that the party will change their lives. He says his party will bring change to the security sector and other marginalised workers. He has also lashed out at opposition parties for failing to focus on such workers. “We are here to change the security sector. We are going to make sure that security officers and cleaners are being insourced. We have petrol attendants, we have call centre agents, we have cashiers everywhere, every marginalised sector or poor working class, we are bringing change to their lives, a change that all these organisations have failed to focus on.”
