The Philippines is banking on regional cooperation and collaboration among the 26 member countries of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission to ensure the viability of the fishing industry, according to the Department of Agriculture .
She said regional cooperation and collaboration among WCPFC member countries will address shared challenges and allow them to achieve their sustainable fisheries management goals. The member countries of WCPFC are Australia, China, Canada, Cook Islands, European Union, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, France, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Republic of Korea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Chinese Taipei, Tonga, Tuvalu, United States of America and Vanuatu.
