The Victorian road safety watchdog has called for the naming and shaming of dangerous drivers who repeatedly have their fines paid by the company they work for.

A report released on Tuesday by the road safety camera commissioner revealed that over a period of two years, 4280 infringements which would have resulted in a driver losing their licence were instead paid for by a company, meaning the dangerous driver was allowed to stay on the road.

In the worst example found by the watchdog, one vehicle recorded 31 fines that would have led to the loss of a licence in the two-year period and no driver was nominated. The Age“I’d like to see these people identified publicly to begin with. Mr Voyage said something needed to be done that was "more than just fining people because they are paying the fine as the cost of doing business.”
