Actor Andile Gumbi suffered a major heart attack while doing a stage production in Israel.
South African actor, Andile Gumbi, known for his role as Zweli Ngubane on Isibaya has died. He was 36. Gumbi suffered a major heart attack while doing a stage production in Israel. He recently starred on SABC 1’s sitcom ‘Makoti’. Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya Producer, Desiree Markgaaff says Gumbi was a very committed actor.
“The thing that I remember most about Andile is how warm he was. When you meet Andile he had this ready, easy smile, a very warm person, a very committed actor. My first experience of him was on stage. An incredible presence on stage, but he was also always easy to be with. His colleagues got on really well with him, a very special human being,” says Markgaaff.
