At a recent job at an industrial lubricant manufacturer in Jacksonville, Fla., Kyle McBride received a box of 500 business cards. By the end of his three years there, he still had 497 cards left. “I gave out an average of one per year,” he says.

I know they’re part of branding/marketing, but I can’t stand how business cards pile up on my desk! We should find professional contacts on LinkedIn and go from there — at least as often as possible.

Business cards are more effective than being listed in the printed Yellow Pages.

Because they still work...

Why are we still printing news on dead trees?

They give it to their secretaries who add it to their contact list

Drop them at restaurants for weekly drawings for a free meal. I won one! Maybe the price will come down, finally.

I hand mine out constantly, almost daily. These anecdotes aren't indicative of anything.
