Republican Sen. Tom Cotton claims the 101st Airborne could be called to quell 'domestic terrorism' at Black Lives Matter protests

Sen. Tom Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, on Monay pushed for the use of military force against Black Lives Matter demonstrators, some of whom have engaged in looting and other criminal acts.

Cotton's comments echoed Trump's rhetoric, which has included threatening "the unlimited power" of the US military against protesters.Sen. Tom Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, pushed for the use of military force against demonstrators who've taken to the streets and, in some cases, protested violently against police brutality and racism.

Cotton, who's closely aligned with President Donald Trump, elaborated on his position on Twitter, calling violence at protests "domestic terrorism."calling protesters "Antifa terrorists." "And, if necessary, the 10th Mountain, 82nd Airborne, 1st Cav, 3rd Infantry — whatever it takes to restore order. No quarter for insurrectionists, anarchists, rioters, and looters.

Your headline read that Cotton 'suggests protesters should be shown no mercy', which is a lie. Mercy is given in ADDITION to the minimum that the law REQUIRES. What Cotton suggested was withdrawal of even that minimum. And by minimizing his advocacy of MURDER, you condone it.

Pretty sure if the protesters look up, see troops and supplies, not to mention Hercules aircraft above their heads, that will only escalate things.

Report him!

Trump sent out the call for MAGA..we didn't think they showed up..but they were there, leading the violence in the dark after real protestors went home, attacking reporters, CNN headquarters...why didn't we see them? White supremists were wearing police uniforms. Watch videos

This is what anti-fascism is all about.

Isn’t Democide a war crime?

What? To drop cluster bombs?

If done this would be against the law and a horrible mistake! I strongly advise against it! Attn: SenTomCotton !

Senator Cotton needs to move to China, they will let him use tanks on the people. He will fit right in.

Maybe he should learn about why people are protesting. While there is no excuse for violence and looting, escalating will mean lives lost, lives ruined and no end to the root cause of all of this. Fix what's wrong. Strongarm tactics will not bring peace.

“I’m glad I’m not in the land of Cotton “ old things there are not forgotten look away, look away, look away Dixie Land”

Just shut up

I thought that US Military cannot be used as law enforcement due to Posse Comitatus Act

If 'leadership' will not stop fomenting violence by Tweet, let's see how right wing extremists respond when the 101st Airborne is on the other side of the street? Sound right?

What a maroon!
