The closure of a Melbourne catering business that claims authorities planted a slug in its kitchen will be examined by a Victorian parliamentary committee. The Victorian Parliament has set up an inquiry into the "forced closure" of catering company I Cook Foods
But after several inspections, the council raised other food safety concerns, including that there was a slug in the kitchen, and laid 96 food safety charges against the owner, Ian Cook, and his company.
"Ratepayers and taxpayers have lost tens of millions of dollars subsidising this failed business [Community Chef]," he said."The fact that councils are selling their share in Community Chef for $1 tells you all you need to know. The company is worthless."It is not good enough for the Premier to pretend there is nothing to see and because of this inquiry he won't be able to do that anymore.
Closed because of a single slug Seems a bit extreme. Surely the slug would be deemed as potential protein, it is after all a homeless snail - escargot.
