Ireland’s education system has lost more days due to workers striking over the past decade than any other industry.
He told the Irish Mirror: “This pandemic has shown us the true value of our essential workers, from consultants and nurses to porters, cleaning staff and supermarket workers. Public administration is third with 98,563 involved in industrial disputes and 92,845 days lost due to strike action. At other end of the scale, no lost days or worker disputes were recorded over 11 years in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector nor in the information and communication sector.
