The e-commerce giant has rapidly assembled the largest portfolio of storage and distribution locations ever by a private company in the city. Earlier this month, Business Insider reported that the tech and e-commerce firm signed on to occupy a 200,000-square-foot warehouse in the South Bronx that had previously been leased by its one-time rival Jet.com. The latest deal will have Amazon occupy 55-15 Grand Avenue, a former paper-making factory in Queens that will be razed and replaced with a multi-story warehouse spanning roughly 1 million square feet and that will feature rooftop parking for delivery vehicles.
