White currently ranks fourth among Americans and is trying to lock down a discretionary bid on the U.S. men’s halfpipe team after dropping out of a recent event with lingering symptoms from a Covid-19 infection. He hopped a flight to Switzerland , where he’ll have one last chance this week to secure his world ranking and make the team. A few other U.S. riders are also going to the Laax Open in a final effort to earn rankings points.
