Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has said his government has opened up the state infrastructurally, spiritually and physically to attract investors from around the world.

Describing Bayelsa as a hub of oil and gas activities in Nigeria, Diri said an enabling environment had been created for investors in various sectors in the state. “Bayelsa is relatively one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. It is the hub of oil and gas activities. He noted that the awards were to show appreciation to the recipients and expressed the optimism that the gesture would motivate them to do more for society.

Each time there is a mention of Yenogoa in Bayelsa, Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A., comes to mind. With almost the same topography, Bayelsa needs to model its development after Rhode Island. Any why not, with an abundance of oil derivative funds.
