The Super Bowl is one of the last events left on TV for companies to grab a live audience in this era of video streaming. Some companies are buying their first-ever Super Bowl ads, paying millions to get that 30-second spot

“There’s one stage left where you get 70% of the population watching,” said Jeff Klein, senior vice president of global marketing for Little Caesars, in an interview, adding “a lot of people are watching for the ads.”

A 30-second commercial cost up to $5.6 million for the upcoming game, FOX said in November. Last year’s Super Bowl on CBS drew 98.2 million TV viewers, and Super Bowl commercials often are widely discussed for weeks on social media.

The commercials aren't even innovative anymore. The companies actually work harder to get people to change the channel. Here's hoping commercial free streaming of the super bowl becomes a thing.

'taking a knee' or other sociopolitical issues didn't kill the NFL. incompetent and blatantly rigged officiating did. Will not be watching again this year.
