Reopening to be done in stages, after state government takes into account local circumstances, says DCM. FMTNews CMCO Covid19 Sarawak

Sarawak disaster committee chairman Douglas Uggah Embas said Sarawak would decide on the reopening after making a study of the new regulations.

Uggah, who is also Sarawak deputy chief minister, said the reopening of economic activities would be announced in stages, after “every minute details of the standard operating procedures and guidelines are studied”. HE said those businesses who had received approval from the ministry of international trade and industry are required to get state government approval through the committee “for their applications to be reviewed before they are allowed to operate”.

He said decisions made under the previous three phases of the movement control order would be maintained until the state government’s study on the implications of reopening economic activities had been completed.
