Unemployment figures to show true impact of coronavirus on job market

It'll be the first real look at what strict lockdowns have had on the jobs market because the last figures that came out were for the first half of March when most of the restrictions and job losses happened in the second half.

Forecasts for the April labour force report centre on a 550,000 slump in the number of people employed, resulting in a massive spike in the jobless rate to 8.3 per cent from 5.2 per cent in March.
