White and non-Black workers will be participating in solidarity actions and donating a day's pay, while Black workers will "take this day to [rest, heal, grieve, protest, etc.]."
According to materials from the organizers, those participating are joined by workers at "Macmillan, Hachette, HarperCollins, PRH, other publishing houses, and companies across book publishing and media.""Don't ask for permission; phrase it as something you are taking part in with or without their sign-off," said an FAQ sent out to participants.
