District 10 Councilman Clayton Perry joins council members for the start of a council meeting on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023.Councilman Clayton Perry announced this morning that he is not running for re-election, saying that his race could distract from real issues.
His statement was released during Thursday’s City Council session. As the meeting was getting underway, business attorney Marc Whyte was at City Hall to file for the District 10 seat. “They say it ‘takes a village,’ but in this case, it’s taken a ‘District,’” his statement reads. “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who reached out with words of encouragement, thoughts, and prayers over the years.
