Uber Health said health insurers and medical care providers the ride-sharing giant works with will soon be able to send “customized healthy food, groceries & OTC orders directly to patient homes nationwide.” Uber Health already provides same-day prescription delivery and access to transportation to ensure health plan enrollees and patients get to their doctor’s offices and other medical appointments.
The announcement comes as the ride share and delivery technology giant brings what Uber chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi has called its “omnichannel” strategy and “everything on demand” to the healthcare industry over the last six years.
