Six months after the murder of Taiwo Oyekanmi, the Director of Finance to the Ogun State governor's office, security operatives are yet to arrest his killers. Oyekanmi was murdered on the 29th of November, 2023, while returning from the bank where he had withdrawn a large sum of money for government use.
had reported that about five hooded gunmen reportedly hijacked the bullion van while it was ascending the popular Kuto Bridge in Abeokuta, opened fire on the official, broke the bullion van door with sledge hammers and went away with the money. The accountant was rushed to the State Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, where he reportedly died. Reacting then, the Ogun State Government placed a N50 million reward for anyone who had information that could lead to the arrest of the killers.
