PUTRAJAYA: The Government intends to strike a balance between the economy along with public health and safety following the Covid-19 pandemic, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

PUTRAJAYA: The Government intends to strike a balance between the economy along with public health and safety following the Covid-19 pandemic, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob .

The government, he said, is aware that businesses suffer because they cannot operate during the movement control order , which has now entered the second phase. “The Cabinet has agreed to set up a special committee to look into how to strike a balance between allowing businesses to operate and looking after the safety and health of the masses, ” he said on Thursday .

He said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and him will co-chair the special committee to find the way forward to resolve these issues.“But I must state that our priority is to protect the rakyat’s safety and health from the Covid-19, ” he said. He also said that following the MCO, each district has its own disaster management committee to handle cases in the respective areas.“We have seen people uploading their complaints on social media and while we thank you for bringing them to the attention of the authorities, I would also like to urge them to raise these matters with their district disaster management committee so it can be addressed, ” he said.
