Hua Cheng Restaurant and Hui Xin Foods were fined $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.

Two companies were fined for operating unlicensed non-retail food businesses, said the Singapore Food Agency on Wednesday .

In the interest of public health, SFA directed Scarlett Supermarket to stop the sale of these food products and remove them from their shelves. The licensee of Scarlett Supermarket was also issued a composition fine for selling food that was not cooked or prepared in a licensed premises. This premises was not licensed to supply food to other food retail establishments. Over 56kg of food products were seized.

On July 9 last year, SFA found that a retail food shop at Beach Road operated by Hui Xin Foods had been illegally supplying sausages and meat jerky made and packed at its premises to Scarlett Supermarket.
