Trucks make their way on eastbound I-580 Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, in Livermore, Calif. Businesses will have more time to comply with California's tough diesel emissions standards for trucks, buses and construction equipment under new, relaxed rules expected to be adopted by air quality officials.
And beginning in 2025, the regulations call for a gradual phase-out of all diesel-powered trucks at ports, rail yards, and warehouses across the state. Those familiar with the proposed amendment have described it as an enforcement mechanism designed to complement the existing emissions rule and ensure the state's fleet of aging, high-polluting trucks is actually replaced with electric models.
California's grid cannot SUPPORT 157,000 chargers. It's gonna be hilarious watching that go down. Pun definitely intended.
