Jonson believes investors should be looking for companies changing technology and products to address climate change and position themselves for a profitable future. Adding companies that incorporate climate change benefits into their long term strategy can provide a better chance of success for investors.

Environmental, social, and governance investing has become all the rage over the past five years, according to Baun, but continues to receive backlash from the political right. Presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation prohibiting politicians from investing public money in ESG programs and prohibiting ESG bond sales.
