“We are facing a complicated reality today,” said Israeli Ambassador Ilan Fluss. “We are in the midst of a war in the Gaza, escalation in Lebanon, and challenges with Iran… but we're seeing a lot of sympathy, a lot of solidarity and a lot of support from the Philippine government and from Filipino people. Thank you very much for that.”
Fluss said that this was Israel’s very first beauty event here on cosmetics and skincare, “and it's really exciting moving from our traditional collaborations and efforts, because Israel and the Philippines have so many partnerships, from the defense industries to agriculture, to workers, to health, so for me this is a bit different, exciting, and makes all of us happy.”
Economic counselor Tomer Heyvi, who heads the Israel Economic Mission to the Philippines, added, “When we started planning this event, we thought we were going to have four or five brands coming from Israel. We have 19 brands here today displaying their products! That's evidence of the strong interest from Israel in the Philippine market.
