A woman whose 1-year-old daughter died weeks after they were released from an immigration detention center in Texas filed a lawsuit against the private prison company that operates the facility.

A woman whose 1-year-old daughter died weeks after they were released from an immigration detention center in Texas filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the private prison company that operates the facility.

CoreCivic operates the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement family detention center at Dilley, Texas, the largest facility of its kind. Juárez's lawyers say CoreCivic allowed poor conditions to fester at the 2,400-bed facility. In a statement, CoreCivic spokeswoman Amanda Gilchrist said the company"had deep sympathy for the family and the tragic loss of their child," and that ICE was responsible for hiring and overseeing medical staff.

According to Juárez's lawyers, Mariee started to have symptoms of a respiratory illness several days after they were taken to Dilley. As her condition worsened — with a fever that hit 104.2 degrees Fahrenheit , then coughing and vomiting — her lawyers allege Dilley medical staff didn't properly treat her, then wrongly cleared her to travel.

Bull, she should have never stepped foot on our soil illegally. We are not responsible for people who choose to break our laws. They are invaders and trespassing!

Good for you. They want 'Private' companies doing the government's job they have to pay for it.

Build the wall

Según la ONU, la posibilidad de que un niño de 15 años muera a la edad de 50 años ahora es mayor en Estados Unidos que en Bangladesh

Deport the illegals

You put your own child at risk/death for coming here illegally! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Break the law in Guatemala, Honduras or Mexico and see how nice the prisons are.

It's sad, the loss of a little life tragic, but really looking for a payout ?blaming the country that you looked to for help?will this make the loss better ?no it wont ,as an imagrant who has witnessed a d been in the facility why dont you use your voice to see it dont happen

LOL at these comments, what do yall possibly gain by defending a PRIVATE prison that detained a ONE-YEAR-OLD CHILD? who does that?

I hope she owns them!

Hope she gets every cent

Good luck with that illegal lady That’s right steal more things for this country That was her intent

THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE TO TRIAL. THE DEFENSE LAWYERS WILL BE, WELL.....UNMERCYFUL...PROVING THE MOTHER WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR CARE OF THE CHILD, AFTER BEING RELEASED. NOT AN IMMEDIATE DEATH EITHER..WEEKS AND WEEKS AFTER GOOD CARE WAS GIVEN IN THE DETENION CENTER.

Good luck. Praying you win

Well done! Be strong and continue with this yourney so that other children won’t die in the hands of those inhuman companies that treats people and children as if they were scum or garbage!

Hahaha - I’m suing you for me being a shitty parent

You can’t make this up

Prosecute her for child abuse, endangerment, and manslaughter.

Hope she gets every cent

I hope she gets a billion at least and let that company go bankrupt

Working the liberal system to death .

How is it the prisons fault if she died weeks later after being released?

I hope she wins just for moral purposes if nothing else.

She takes her daughter on dangerous journey and enters illegally and blames us?

Let’s file a lawsuit back on the woman who tried to illegally enter a country, which was the ultimate reason for her child’s death

None of these children should die.
