The Food Safety Authority of Ireland released a safety message

An Irish food distributor has recalled a range of salami products due to fears they contain a meningitis-causing bug.

The infection was detected in a sausage made by a German retailer - and all products made in the factory are now subject to a recall. "Listeria monocytogenes was detected in a sausage made by Wilke Waldecker Fleisch und Wurstwaren and all products made in the factory, carrying the approval mark DE EV 203 EG, are subject to recall."Businesses are being told to to remove the affected salamis from sale. A point of sale recall notice informing customers not to eat the products are to be clearly displayed in outlets.
