Glenda McCulloch paints contemporary Indigenous art. After advertising her paintings on Instagram, she found the demand for her art is much stronger than she first expected.

Ms McCulloch called her art contemporary — it is untraditional in that she has not been inspired by dreaming stories."I did one recently about the eucalyptus trees," she said.

"We were going to Dajarra for the rodeo and on the way [I] was looking at all the white gums in the distance and I came back, and I painted a painting. "It's not actually gumtrees, it's just white swirls but that was what I was inspired by and I just painted it.""I love Mount Isa's landscape — it's beautiful — the reds, the greens, the pinks. Every one of my paintings has those earthy tones in them," she said.

"I've tried to put blue in but every time I do that I feel like it's coastal and I just can't do it."A family affair
