Stolen SANDF weapons found in Hammanskraal

Greef says the weapons were found in Hammanskraal. However, information of the exact location has not been disclosed. He says four officers and 19 guards have been taken in for questioning.

“The weapons have been recovered. It does rather disturbingly seem to be an inside job. The person in charge of the keys of the safe, the officer on duty and so on would be suspects in this case. They were found in Hammanskraal on the next morning of the theft. So four officers have been arrested and taken in for questioning, 19 guards have been taken in for questioning.”

The Democratic Alliance said in an earlier statement that the weapons included at least 19 R4 assault rifles, adding that the robbery at the Lyttleton Military Base is a symptom of bigger problems in the South Africa National Defence Force. The ANC Study Group in Parliament has also condemned the robbery, saying it is concerning that such weapons are on the streets, posing a serious risk to the public.

The SANDF says the incident seems to have been an inside job and has taken in a number of suspects for questioning as investigations continue.

Military has the most advanced technology in the world every military with a decent economy how can those weapons get stolen and not traceable?

So far

You lied again

LandNoli Aphi lamabhulu

Andile81349343 Lies.... I think they just want to lay down this saga.... Nothing is found

Can anyone from the African countries who were liberated before SA tell us what's their take on this.

The problem with the ruling party's is to be soft when comes to law enforcement. To pleasing votes. They don't understand that, their strategy is more like lock yourself in the house. Then lighting it with matches, think that the flame not going to touch you.

Everyone in South Africa is corrupt even our trusted SANDF 😭😭😭

Why are they giving them opportunity for bail applications. Those thieves are dangerous to society

Noone is safe

Smething fishy her

SizweDhlomo Imagine if these had fallen into wrong hands! Moer!!!👀😳

SizweDhlomo Orange overalls

Told u maanda_maseli

Besazi vele

Where are EFF mosquitoes to blame WMC and Rupert?

Good news

That second box kinder looks half empty though.... 🤔 where the rest...

Hope everyone involved in this crime has been arrested or will be

THATS why that helicopter was wylin!!!

This is very bad. More than ridiculous. How on earth do you do this SANDF?

We are not safe in this country. On a military base something like happened. What next

while nibusy pianoing and belgraviarising niyfaka emakhaleni, the koos, jans and heindriks are gearing themselves up for when yall decide to put this repatriation without compensation plan into action...anyway qhubekani

Umsangano ke lo

I will need to see visual confirmation of the recovered arms...not the kind on the news where a CIT van is being robbed....an image of positive ID by some high ranking official from the SANDF at the recovery site.

Abramjee Lol government protects criminals so that they can be an excuse for all their mess... How do you steal from a military base... In harding (kzn) few weeks ago, a shop was robbed across the road from SAPS station... Shows they aren't scared of law

thulimo These are not the same weapons. SANDF don't know what happened to the stolen cache and have staged this intervention to set your nerves at ease!

Heads must roll at the SANDF base. This is pure an inside job; it should never have happened in the first place.

Inside job 🤞🏾

Rhaaa so there's an ANC Study group in parliament

Onkgo_Zow Kasi ya hao

Go_mza see your people...

This was gonna be used in heist.

JangoGenes 💀💀

I thought as much, more hiests to follow after this

Ke ma kgolwa ka go bona. Di kae? Are di di bone even the house or place where they were found. Any arrests as yet? NO.

Mzansi is a lawless country, criminals do as they please! How can the most secure environment in the country be broken into. During apartheid only SA's where allowed to be soldiers and police officials, now comrades has brought their friends from exile to work here

ItumelengMekoa The abandoned credible recruitment methods for nepotism, and this is the price we pay. They should tell us the name of the person at whose house the weapons were found.

marksflv Lol Meer criminals can steal fr Sandf but we expect miracles from saps lmao we a joke

Such an embarrassment

Umhlola, how did we end up here

But how can it be stolen? Ka nnete ho ya makatsa bcoz security is supposed to be maximized

The government wants us to hand over licensed fire arms over to them while they cannot look after their own arms. This arms they want is not licensed any longer because they changed the rules. The real problem of totally unlicensed arms is simultaneously ignored.

Had it been truly found? Or just a conspiracy to make us feel safe.

The soldiers working there must be closed

These criminals who is busy dragging SANDF name down must be punished. SANDF is a great organization that must be supported by all South Africans.

But we all knew was inside job

Relieved that the stolen weapons have been recovered. I can sleep peacefully

One would expect that these are locked in a strong room with tight security and cameras....

Vohemba

refilweafrica I have been saying that we turn hammanskraal into a beach we wouldn't be having this.

I wonder all was recovered.

Criminals are being hired in our safety and security systems, police and soldiers are dominated by criminals, I don't think it will be the last time we hear of this kind

Fire everyone.

Abramjee All the weapons including the amunision?

Eeeeeee 🙆‍♀️jah neh.... South Africa 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Crime and corruption in South Africa is sickening. The people employed to protect us are criminals. It's too much.

They will be resold again soon. No worries

Thanx you god which if those weapons fall into the wrong hands esp on too the Streets who knows what would have happened just glad they found it in time

It's so funny people believe the weapons were stolen but don't wanna believe that were recovered. Haai

Those Boko Haram SA have to be fired they put SANDF and S Africa as whole in a shameful position

That's very good. Just arrest the perpetrators.

LordSizwe Waterboarding

Inside job..

Heads has to roll

Its the same SANDF soldiers who surely stole their own weapons. The rot in this country clearly knows no limits & deepens day-by-day

I can tell you nothing has been found the real missing weapons are still at large corruptANC

SADF was much better than this corrupt ANC mediocre we are totally not safe

I wish I had the time to find my thread about stolen weapons from the SANDF a few years ago. How it Never made it on the news. How, le today they were never recovered

Inside job

desobanks Matabolavich wisbar yane

I don't believe that they were recovered.........

Crime scene kuyaqhutywa apha smh

I think now is the time to give BantuHolomisa a chance to fix and control our defense as Minister of Defense, even Madiba,Thambo,Hani and many fallen heros would be happy from their graves if CyrilRamaphosa MYANC PresidencyZA can give General Holomisa that position

We want to see the proof and a thief

Ms_Keitumetse_ It’s good they were found...Who knows maybe the weapons were gonna be used at a Cash-In-Transit Heist sooner or later 🤷🏽‍♂️

mosimane_sekos Mimi_Dlams

Abramjee Ama SBV nama G4s asindile cause they are always the target when this type of guns are used..

This is a disgrace to our military

After seeing the statement from Pikkie my dots are connecting nicely.

White people territory.

MbuyiseniNdlozi Stop lying to us Nina mahn! Tjerrr

Homi town 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Mxmxmx

Abramjee If that is the case a very big thumb up for such a quick recovery otherwise it would've been a very disaster

🙏🙏 thank you very much if those weapons founded

Whoever was hired to help 'manage SANDF reputation' tried his best, good PR stance. So we must all think they are found

Yeyiii 🚮

I am in interested in Nationality of the arrested Security guards as well. Nothing must be hidden, we want truth as is. What was they intended destination and use. Military police must mop the gravel with the suspects to get the truth. TRT can assist them as well if needs be

That's great news was worried

How did it happen?

We are not safe moo

MbuyiseniNdlozi Sorry fighter not u

MbuyiseniNdlozi Listen to those with a twisted conspiracy theories

Abaxoki

It was an inside job

Lies! They found the bullets

Abramjee This country is 'u neek ' it never runs short of things going missing and excuses. Thanks to affirmative action. We will run the world one day.

This is fast turning into a banana republic and a laughing stock.

Abramjee I DID SAY THIS WAS AN INSIDE JOB.

Abramjee Siyabonga

Batho ba Pitori PitoriTrends_ZA maar why? Bolelang...

I'm glad that many black foreigners have left the country. Otherwise we would have blamed this on them as usual.

Who's fooling who here🙄

Abramjee Cover up

darren_olivier Well done to the investigating team,. Well done.

Oh thank God please fire minister of defense

Abramjee Question is, what was the mission

So no cctv in the base ok did this weapons ve tracker if not how the hell did u found them l smell the fish in the Bakery

This is symptomatic of a bigger problem within the Defence force and maybe in its government itself. Who knows. Its scary

All of them?

Well done we were breathing through the wound 💔

kabelodick Lies

Abramjee Eugine_Manganyi Skraal

Command and Control

But the key question for me is how do you steal at a supposedly secure facility like an army base?

Definitely an inside job! But ke what can we say.

kabelodick I don't believe you, you need more witnesses

Hahaha uthi bangaloko basenze izlima mntase

nubian6 🤔

Inside job, or done with inside help. Hope they identify the culprits.

The weapons were found in a place where fingers go missing Hammanskraal

Cc MalgasK

🤣🤣🤣 yeerrr I'm proud shem. Yall managed to steal from SANDF? hay no

MbuyiseniNdlozi wish i can immigrate to Namibia

MbuyiseniNdlozi shit country this one.

Give those involved people some few months behind bars (if at all) then it's 'parole' if not a presidential pardon.

So dem Hammanskraal people were gonna use mechene eo go guarder machankura a mavuso 🤔🤔🤔

No names or mention of the melanin levels in the skin of the perpetrators? So Boere we guess..

I think I saw some of the weapons ko ditrupeng😆

Let's hope it needn't be said that a civilian couldn't have pulled this off. Clearly an inside job.

MbuyiseniNdlozi South Africa can easily be invaded by foreign forces with out any shorts being fired. State arsenal looted by thiefs, this should be a wake up call.

I hope this is not a concocted story to paint government and SANDF's image good and quick responding.

Not good enough!

MbuyiseniNdlozi House number or street address,

Mavuso, Nelly Mawaza, Carousel casino, Dr Malinga and now this... HammieTown zuka emabhozeni 🤔🤔🤔

Our country though 😳

nesbert_kamo DMan_Yeye kasi ya hao 👀

MbuyiseniNdlozi Someone must walk in a red carpet.

MbuyiseniNdlozi Indeed our country is not safe at all

Anything with south africa is possible, I am not surprised. Bt this will be a shock to our president.

Have arrests been made?

MbuyiseniNdlozi Wat a shitty year!!

This is the price we are paying for having a bought president who cannot lead! we are not safe at all

Nixokelani hulumeni

Classified Ads: Lost and found

Much better

They are lying. Dont be gullible They just covering up the embarrassment. The sabcnews investigative journalists must insist on seeing the asset register or inventory list of all rifles in that base. You will see that some of them are not in the register. Still missing.

How did we end up here, criminals undermine a military base like that. Hope now our government understand when we say. Criminals do as they please in this country without any fear. What about the ordinary citizens special women that stay alone in a free stand house. Her safety

.

Thank goodness, have they found everything though ? My opinion on the matter is that those responsible ( thieves and buyers ) must be jailed for life with no parole.

Even our so called trusted soldiers are corrupt, what is wrong with South Africa?

Where are the thieves? Display em so we know who are dealing with.
