The trappers would profit from a spread — the difference between the cost price and the selling price. Conversely, because bears and bulls were widely considered to be opposites due to the once-popular blood sport of bull-and-bear fights, the term bull stands as the opposite of bears.

It means you should have taken your money out of the market last year when top economists said the market was due for a correction and potential recession starting in late 2019 early 2020.
