The companies spanned a range of industries, including technology, finance and retail. Some of these memos were posted publicly on company websites and social media platforms; some were reported in other media outlets; some were emailed by spokespeople to Business Insider. A full list of the companies whose memos we included can be found at the bottom of this article.
"I am ashamed to say I do not have a single black employee who is at Director level or above," Wojcicki wrote. "Our product is euro-centric but must expand to be inclusive and equitable." Wojcicki told her customers that "despite our efforts, I have to honestly say that we are also part of the problem."
