A former Sweetgreen employee is suing the salad chain, alleging gender discrimination and sexual harassment

A former shift manager at Sweetgreen has sued the fast-casual salad chain and his then-manager, alleging sexual harassment and gender discrimination.

In the suit, filed Oct. 9 in New York State Supreme Court, Tiamini Chirse, who worked at Sweetgreen from 2016 to 2019, alleges that a coworker "showed him pornographic pictures and told other employees that they were dating" and that Chirse was "her property."Despite a complaint Chirse sent to the company via email, the sexual harassment continued, according to court records.

Armfield routinely referred to Chirse using female pronouns despite repeated corrections by Chirse, according to the suit. He said his several requests to transfer to a different Sweetgreen branch were denied.
