Eight companies have faced legal action since 2017, says state exco Hee Loy Sian.

The Selangor state legislative assembly was told today that most of the river pollution cases in the state were caused by licensed companies or factories.

State Tourism, Environment, Green Technology and Orang Asli Affairs Committee chairperson, Hee Loy Sian, said the state government did not tolerate the parties involved and would take appropriate action including seizing the land where their premises were built.

then u know what 2 do

Saman all at least RM1 million each plus jail term minimum 1 year. Give the law enforcement officers some incentives for the job well done so they can catch more polluters.

Excuses upon excuses as expected without any concrete actions & solutions. Obviously, gaji buta.

Dakwa lah mereka. Yg x ada lesen pun dakwa.

I think the right headline should be 'Most DETECTED S'gor pollution cases caused by licensed companies' because there are definitely plenty of cases where they can't determine the cause of pollution.

Revoke their license

Question is ‘how can the gov prevent these licensed factories from polluting our rivers?’ Other than enforcements and punishments, what can the local governments / councils do? Better waste management policies? Better incentive for waste water treatments?

Don't you just love capitalism
