The National Disability Insurance Agency is paying online gambling agency Sportsbet $3.7 million to rent office space, raising questions about its spending of taxpayer funds.

Tim Costello says the NDIA giving $3.7m in rent to Sportsbet is a "completely inappropriate use of taxpayer money"

Tim Costello, chief advocate of the Alliance for Gambling Reform, told 7.30 the arrangement was "distasteful, damaging and a completely inappropriate use of taxpayer money". "The tenancy is strictly a standard commercial office sub-lease agreement. To suggest otherwise is wrong. Ordinarily, leases that Commonwealth Government agencies enter into must be made within the Commonwealth property management framework and must also follow the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

So my wife and I are unable to apply for respite care for our daughter through NDIS because it has no benefit for her. But it's okay for NDIS to pay SportBet more than 3.5 million dollars for office space... FFS.

Whose pocket did the kickback end up going into? That's the question that needs answering. Smells like another LNP rort to me.

I wonder how many free tickets to events and access to sporting celebrities for government employees this buys? You can’t convince me the kickbacks aren’t easy to find for this shady shit. Doesn’t the government own enough properties that suitable rental space could be found?
