The West Australian’s Federal Political Reporter Sarah Ison says the business community is pushing Prime Minister Scott Morrison to go “harder” on climate policy.
The Australian is reporting Mr Morrison has promoted his “technology, not taxes approach” at the COP26 summit and warned getting the shift to net zero wrong would impact “those who can afford it the least”. Ms Ison pointed out the business community has already been pursuing their own net zero by 2050 targets for a long time and seems to feel “the Coalition isn’t quite delivering”.
“Morrison has to both please them, the business community – and the international community frankly – and the Nationals in his party room,” she said.
