Government insiders dole out the funds, taxpayers provide them and get no say.

Take away our oil and gas sector and our ponzi house of cards real estate sector and we are a third world economy. Pump the crude, the world wants it, and we have it.

Funny how most of the sources for this story are from Environmental/anti-O&G groups because they are completely impartial. They can’t even define what a subsidy is. Enjoy the higher prices because they are only going to go higher thanks to the Libs

Excellent article ( for a change) by the CBC . Well written and a balanced viewpoint of the topic. I would have liked to see a royalties aspect as well .

Great article overall but I would have loved to see data for royalties on our natural resources. We only get 10% of fossil fuel revenues while other countries like Norway get over 70%. We got sold out and hardly anybody is talking about that, much less doing anything.

It's time that Canadians realized how much of their tax dollarsgo towards financing foreign oil & gas interests. All for a few paltry jobs.

Best funding ever. Only funding that creates a budget surplus.

The oil & gas industry, any industry for that matter, shouldn’t receive public money, period. Big companies using public money to prop up their profits, it’s ridiculous. This corporate welfare BS must stop.

Subsidizing our own climate destruction and addiction to a profiteering crooked industry. We are a doomed species.

the world is a fishbowl ... it does not matter who produces it, we use it and need it right now and so your country by country climate change outlook is flawed. it is like a fish defecating in one corner expecting it not to effect the rest of the tank ....
