PETALING JAYA: FIC Properties Sdn Bhd has issued notice to PT Rajawali Capital International and PT Rajawali Corpora to exercise its put option regarding its investment in PT Eagle High Plantation Tbk .In a statement yesterday, Felda said FIC Properties in December 2016 has acquired 37% of the shares in EHP from RCI for the sum of US$505.4mil .

In accordance with the acquisition agreement, Felda noted that FIC Properties could exercise a put option for its investment in two scenarios, firstly upon default by RCI/RC; and secondly at the sole and absolute discretion of FIC Properties by the option end date, which falls on May 11, 2022. Felda said: “The FIC Properties’ exercise of the put option under the second scenario is to fully safeguard its rights and interests.

“By this put option, RCI or RC must buy back the 37% shares from FICP at the investment price of US$505.4mil , with interest of 6% per annum from May 11, 2017 to the date of full payment.”
