The San Juan City local government and Starpay Corporation inked a partnership aimed at bringing a more convenient process in business permit transactions as part of the city’s goal to become a “Smart City” amid the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the city government, the partnership between Starpay and the San Juan Business Permit and Licensing Office allows residents and entrepreneurs to conveniently process their business permits anytime and anywhere without visiting the LGU’s physical office.

City Administrator Atty. Dennis Pamintuan said that since 2019, it has been the thrust of the Zamora administration to digitalize San Juan and these efforts would help in the fight against corruption. “We have been helping our fellow Filipinos during the pandemic through the efficient delivery of financial support. We intend to continue assisting the government and even private institutions in delivering reliable digital services,” he added.

They said the new system brought about by the partnership allows those applying for business permits to log in to the LGU’s e-service portal, fill up the form, and attach all required scanned documents.
