The Wayne resident made more than 200 withdrawals — ranging from $5,000 to $27,000 — from banks in northern New Jersey, federal prosecutors said.

The 50-year-old former chief financial officer of a Bergen County company is headed to federal prison after admitting Tuesday she embezzled more than $3.7 million.Aldi is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 10.

She made more than 200 withdrawals — ranging from $5,000 to $27,000 — from banks in northern New Jersey between January 2018 and December 2020, according to prosecutors. Aldi then attempted to cover up the theft by altering the company’s financial records and bank statements. Aldi withdrew money from banks in several towns, including Pequannock, Wayne, Oakland and Franklin Lakes, according to charging documents. The money was for her “personal benefit” officials said.

Prosecutors didn’t name the Wyckoff-based company where Aldi worked but said the business “was involved in the global wholesale distribution of business imaging products, such as copying machines.”
