Most Black Canadians feel their employers made progress addressing anti-Black racism last year -- but they worry about what a recession could mean for those gains, a KPMG survey said.

surveyed in December and January said their employers made progress on efforts to be more equitable and inclusive for Black employees in 2022.

The KPMG study found 73 per cent of respondents believe anti-Black racism efforts and broader diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives will be "put on the back burner" by their employer during an economic downturn. But after the death of George Floyd, a Black man in Minneapolis killed in police custody during the COVID-19 pandemic, sparked global fury over systemic racism, there has been added pressure for companies to better diversify their organizations and rectify issues Black employees face as they seek employment and promotions.

"While it's encouraging to see Canadian organizations have continued to make progress on addressing anti-Black racism over the past year, it's imperative to keep building on that momentum, even in the face of economic headwinds, labour market fluctuations and inflationary pressures," said Elio Luongo, chief executive and senior partner of KPMG in Canada, in a news release.

I seem to remember a quote, 'I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.' But that must be nonsense, lets completely focus on skin over everything.

Is really a problem?, no really... Let's have some facts and figures.

Anti-Black racism training doesn't make people who weren't racist less racist.

Exactly where, right now, are blacks being held back because of race?

All racism is wrong but apparently it's ok to discriminate against whites for some jobs. 'White Supremacy' is pointed out as being wrong but 'Supremacy' of other races is never mentioned. Eliminate all race-based criteria. Hire by merit and merit alone.

great strategy.. Let's focus on the least significant visible difference - a skin shade.. And let's teach our kids to focus on that difference too, so they don't see other kids as classmates and friends, but as white or black. As long as the funding flows, let's keep it secure.

There's a reason why these companies don't need to make progress on anti-Asian or anti-Semitic racism and it's called individual responsibility.

How about anti white ? Anti Jew ? Anti-insert here

You shouldn’t be hired based on religion, race, gender, or sexual preferences. This is just creating unfair advantages.
