The film sector is estimated to support up to 70,000 jobs and is worth up to $3.6 billion to British Columbia's economy annually.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists , Hollywood’s actors union, reached a tentative deal with studios on Wednesday to end its strike, bringing an end to months of labour action that ground the entertainment industry to a halt. The three-year contract agreement must be approved by votes from the union’s board and its members in the coming days, but the leadership declared the strike’s end for Thursday.

“There’s a lot of people in British Columbia who are eager to get back to work and working on productions,” Gill said. “I think that the industry and the sector here are in a strong position to hopefully continue to attract that business to British Columbia.”Leaked documents reveal Alberta’s plan to dismantle AHS, possibly sell off care homes
