Neuralink on Wednesday said part of its brain implant has malfunctioned within human patient

Neuralink on Wednesday said part of its brain implant malfunctioned in the weeks following its first in-human procedure.

Neuralink did not disclose how many threads retracted from the tissue. The company did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment. Though some threads retracted from Arbaugh's brain tissue, Neuralink said he is using the company's BCI system for around 8 hours a day during the week, and often upwards of 10 hours a day on the weekends.
