Kuala Lumpur: The government, through the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council Technical Committee , is committed to discussing a new special grant rate for Sabah in line with Article 112D of the Federal Constitution, the Finance Ministry said.
The ministry said the discussions would factor in the cost of state services and the federal government’s current financial capability.In line with the provisions of Article 112D, the federal government and Sabah state government had jointly conducted an examination and held discussions to review the amount, it said in a written reply posted on the Parliament website yesterday.
“As a result, a new rate of RM125.6 million was agreed on in 2022, which was enforced through the gazetting of the Federal Constitution Order 2022 dated April 20, 2022, for five years.
