Hootsuite is refusing to say how many employees have been laid off, but a media report says it was more than 100 staffers.

In a brief statement Tuesday, Hootsuite confirmed with Postmedia that there had been some layoffs, but a spokesperson refused to say how many employees were let go.“Today Hootsuite communicated organizational changes in order to drive greater alignment with our growing company’s strategic priorities that best serve our customers. Unfortunately, this included some reductions to our staff,” the short statement said.

When asked how many people had lost their jobs, Hootsuite spokesperson Naomi Hurley said the company would not be “providing commentary beyond the statement.” However, according to a Globe and Mail report in January, Hootsuite abandoned the sale after preliminary offers came in below expectations.
