The South Africans are in Group K along with Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. They open their account against Uganda at the Orlando Stadium on Friday evening.
“I’m expecting positive results in their next two back-to-back matches because the team has gone well in the past eight months. But I’ve learnt over the years as an international coach that you do well in all your home matches,” says Hugo Broos, Bafana Bafana coach. “The PSL only starts in mid-September which means that there are players who have not played competitively in months. Playing friendlies and official matches is different. It annoys me a little but hopefully, we will manage the situation.”
