WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris heads to New Hampshire on Wednesday to unveil a $50,000 tax deduction for new small businesses as she works to win over independent voters and Republicans skeptical of former President Donald Trump.

Recent polls show Harris with a four to six percentage point lead in the state over Trump, her Republican rival in the Nov. 5 election. Harris will appear at a brewery, joined by elected officials and a leader of a "Republicans for Harris" group in New Hampshire. The state has supported a Democratic candidate in every presidential election since 1992, except for former President George W. Bush’s 2000 win. U.S. President Joe Biden beat Trump in the state by seven percentage points in 2020.
